Flower For Algernoon Response.

9. People who dislike others because they are different from them are kind of like bullies. They like to look down on people and make fun of everybody, especially those who have a disease, or are stupid. Most of the time, I assume that those people don't have any siblings because their parents spoil them, so they think that they are the most superior beings in the world, or sometimes, they want to attract people's attention by insulting others. I also think that they don't have many friends, and are very lonely because they insult everybody and aren't friendly at all. A lot of people dislike those who are different and weird or have a disease of some sort. Like in the story "Flowers For Algernon", Charlie's fake friends made fun of him because he was very stupid. But once he got really smart, people disliked because he was too intelligent. Although it is completely ok to dislike somebody, I still think they should understand that they are also human beings, and that we should still respect them as much as we respect our friends and family.

You're very right David. Many times people who are mean to others have personal problems and don't feel good about themselves. Then they take those problems and try to push them on other people.

Wow! That's a really detailed post! Even though you and I have different opinions about people who dislike others who are different from them but your post is very well explained and I've learned more about your perspective. Great job, David!

This is obviously a very thoughtful response. I can see that you think a lot because you infer many things about the story.
I also really like the way you really return to your topic sentence. This sorts of strengthens the point and also leaves a greater impression in our minds.
I also agree with you that we should respect other people, and beyond that, any living things. We should put ourselves into any other people's situation and decide for us if we would like it if we are the stakeholder and other people did the same thing to us. After all, both Jesus Christ and Confucius said, "Do not do to others what you don't want be done to you." Excellent response, David! I like it. ;)

Sorry, David. I commented on your blog several days ago, but so weird it's not there. However, this a great piece of work - not to long yet not too short - which makes reading easier. I agree with you that some people dislike others for being different because they are too lonely. It might be the only way they think of to make attention. It's quite interesting to me. And about the rest, an excellent detailed work that answers your question perfectly. Congratulations!!!
